My Favorite Vacations:
Alaska:
Alaska may just be my favorite state in the Union with its awesome beauty of brilliant pink blossoms against a background of snow-covered mountains; the salmon which swim upstream seen from the train as you ride north into Denali and Fairbanks. I will never forget the sight of the turquoise blue color as we looked into the cracks of the glacier and heard the soothing sound of the water as it melted from the sun.
The train ride thorough the Alaskan countryside, riverboat ride in Fairbanks and a salmon bake are things you "must do". What fun to watch the Iditarod dogs training and the locals as they prepared their fish.
Australia:
We concentrated our time in Sydney and branched out on several tours taking us into the Blue Mountains and Bondi Beach offering great sightseeing. Sydney is a destination in itself with its cosmopolitan and historical sights. The Great Barrier Reef is a wonderful area for diving or snorkeling. Honeymooners will fall in love all over again with a stay in one of the many luxury resorts available.
Costa Rica:
I had read a lot about Costa Rica and looked at a lot of pictures but I was not nearly ready for the natural beauty of this destination. There are so many climates and variations of topography in a country no larger than the state of West Virginia. We had a taste of the Rain forest, Beach, Jungle, and the city but of all the exciting things I experienced my favorite was the zip-line in Arenal.
