These applications may be downloaded by clicking here and must be completed by the athlete including recommendations and verifications from coach, school administration and counselor.
Areas of evaluation will include:
• Sportsmanship
• Athletic and academic achievements
• Community involvement
All applications will be reviewed by Team Sports Travel and the top 5 will be forwarded to San Diego Section of CIF for final selection. Weekly recipients will be interviewed by KUSI’s Sports Division and awarded a letterman’s jacket patch and will be announced each Thursday evening beginning October 1, 2009 through May 6, 2010 on KUSI News.
In addition all weekly winners and their coach will be honored at an awards banquet in May, 2010 at which time the yearly Citizen Athlete will be awarded a $1000 scholarship and a family cruise vacation for four.
Applications will be kept on file for each sport season. To be considered for additional sports, applicants must reapply during each season they participate.
